BIOGRAPHY

Decadence was an early Boston Hardcore band which pre-dated DYS, Negative FX and Slapshot.
The band was formed by students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School [where members of DYS, The Bosstones, Stranglehold attended as did actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon].
Decadence founding members included Jonathan Anastas and Jonathan Roberts.
The band only recorded a 4-song demo, with the single track "Slam" making it onto the classic "This Is Boston, Not LA" compilation album on Modern Method.
Decadence only played two or three shows, including one with an early lineup of Jerry's Kids.
A cover of "Slam" was later used in MTV's long-running holiday promo "Santa's Secret Life as a Slam Dancer" where an animated Santa is super imposed as a pit participant over film at a large LA Hardcore show.
Where Are They Now?
Jonathan Anastas joined DYS and later Slapshot.
Jonathan Roberts went on to form the retro pub-Punk Boston band Stranglehold, whose CD can still be purchased through Taang! Records.
